Assembly instructions

Our model kits are usually made of metal and plastic components and are aimed at sophisticated adult model builders. Every kit includes a mounting instruction. All our kits are delivered unpainted. For an optimal paintwork we recommend to read our painting instructions section.

To provide guidance for the assembly, all our kits are divided into 3 difficulty levels. The particular difficulty level can be found in the product description in our shop.

Difficulty levels

Beginner: Small bending and gluing work with up to 2 hours of construction, fewer components

Advanced: Some bending and gluing work with 2-4 hours of construction, moderate number of components

Professional: Complex bending and gluing work with a over 4 hours construction, large number of parts

Tools

Usually it takes a sharp scalpel (or very good hobby knife), flat and pointed tweezers, scissors, superglue and a stable base for the assembly of our kits.

Preparation

Before starting with the assembly, we recommend to once again read the assembly instructions. In the next step all metal parts must be separated from its holder. For cutting use a sharp cutter (e.g. a scalpel with a new blade) and a robust surface. Cutting mats are not suitable as some parts can bend easily.

Bending

Some components have to be bent in position before mounting. To facilitate the bending, these components have a groove for easy bending. For bending, we recommend to us a small steel ruler, so that the components only bend at the groove. For bending larger components (as roofs) a stable edge should be used in combination with the steel ruler.

Glueing

We recommend to glue our model kits with superglue. This adhesive should be suitable for both, metals and plastics.
